Start Using AI for Real Tasks—Without the Hype
You do not need to know programming or buy an expensive subscription to try a useful AI workflow. At AI Work Life Guide, we explain ordinary tasks, show you what to ask an AI assistant, and help you check the results before using them.
In 10 minutes: pick one small task, try a focused prompt, check the output, and keep only what works for you. Start with one guide below.
1. Choose the everyday problem you want to solve
Each tutorial turns a real situation into a short workflow, with prompts or examples you can adapt. These starting points come from our published articles.
At work
Turn a rough email into a clear, polite draft—then review facts, tone, and recipients yourself.
With your time
Plan an achievable day around fixed meetings, energy, priorities, and breaks.
At home
Use ingredients you already have to build meal ideas and a shopping list, with a food-safety check.
2. Follow our 4-step AI method
- Define the task. Explain what you need, for whom, and what success looks like.
- Set boundaries. Share non-sensitive details only. Specify format, length, audience, and constraints.
- Ask for an actionable result. Request a short draft, checklist, table, or plan—not a vague essay.
- Review before you act. Verify dates, calculations, source claims, prices, safety instructions, and personal relevance.
3. Try this adaptable starter prompt
Copy the structure below into the AI assistant of your choice. Replace the square-bracketed details with your own non-sensitive information.
I want help with [one specific task]. My goal: [what a useful result should achieve]. My constraints: [time, budget, audience, format, and any limits]. Please provide: [a short step-by-step plan / editable draft / checklist]. If information is missing, state your assumptions. Flag anything I should verify myself before acting. Do not invent sources, dates, prices, or guaranteed results.
4. Use this quick reality-check list
- Does the answer match the situation you described?
- Can you verify the important claims using reliable, current sources?
- Are any costs, locations, schedules, laws, or product instructions out of date?
- Did you avoid sharing passwords, confidential workplace documents, or private personal details?
- Is the output practical enough to use and easy to revise yourself?
Important: AI outputs are suggestions, not proof. For medical, legal, financial, electrical, or other high-stakes decisions, use authoritative professional guidance. Tool availability and pricing may change.
